Sujata Mehta

Sujata Mehta is an Indian actress from Gujarat has worked in Plays and Bollywood films. Starting her career in Gujarati plays by making small appearances, she went on to take the lead roles in movies only through her hard work, perseverance, and patience.

Sujata debuted in the film industry in 1987 with the motion picture 'Pratighata' in the lead role. The film was a success making 80 million rupees on the box office even though it did not cast in big stars. The film describes the college lecturer Lakshmi (Sujata Mehta) taking on political-criminal nexus even after facing public disrobing.

Sujata was acknowledged and acclaimed for her astral portrayal of given role. Sujata, known for her versatility and taking up challenging roles, also appeared in 1988's 'Yateem' where she plays the role of a concupiscent landlady who hankers for young men. Due to her extraordinary performance and amazing portrayal of the character, She was nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actress. Sujata also appeared in some other films like 1992' 'Tyaagi', 1993's 'Aaj Ki Aurat', Hulchul and others.

She also made appearances in Television series such as ' Khandaan Khandaan is a television series that aired on Door >> Read More... ' in 1985 and has played the role of mothers on shows like "Yeh Meri Life Hai" where she played the role of Ronit's mother and "Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka" which is a family comedy show that includes insane humor and drama.
