Priyanka Setia

Priyanka Setia is an actress who works predominantly in the Hindi film industry. She is a native of Pitampura in New Delhi and all through her early years she loved to go and shop in places like Lajpat Nagar and Sarojini Nagar. She began her professional career as a flight attendant, but soon her ambitions increased.

She loved the travel she got due to her job but did not find creative satisfaction in what she was doing. She received a suggestion from one of her friends to move to the city of dreams, Mumbai and she switched her field and set off to pursue a career in the field of modeling. The people around Setia told her she had an appearance and a face fir for professional acting and splendor.

Once in Mumbai, she began trying her hand with different things, toying the idea of films but ended up more inclined towards theatre. She took the plunge as a 25-year-old girl and began working towards making a mark in the theatre industry. She had never been on stage in the past, nor had she participated in oratory exercises but her determination was what worked for her. Soon she claimed a position among the theatre artists and was offered multiple roles to act in plays and dramas.

She received immense love from the audience as well as from her fellow actors. She was a chosen artist for the cast of Vagina Monologues which is one of the plays which ran for the very long time in the theatre. She never thought of entering into Hindi film industry as a career option that she wished to explore. It was due to one of her friends, who went for the auditioning process of a movie, that she gave the audition too after her friends suggested it to her.

She got the role and the film was Hawaizaada starring Ayushman Khurana. Priyanka’s films did not fare well at the box office, and both Hawaisaada nad Begum Jaan failed to impress audiences, yet she was happy about the versatility that both the roles offered to her as an actor. In one movie her character was that of a housewife while in the other her role was that of a fierce lady.
