Meghna Kothari is an Indian actress who works predominately in the Hindi film industry. She is the daughter of Padma Shri award recipient, Rita Ganguly and Keshav Kothari. They have a son named Aabir Chatterjee. She was born and brought up in Delhi, India. Meghna completed a Psychology degree at Lady Shriram College, New Delhi. She currently lives in Greater Noida, India.

She embarked on her career as a child artist in the movie Muniya Abhi Hasegi. Though Meghna Kothari was an actor by profession, she possessed a significant interest in dancing. Her father, late Keshav Kothari, is a dancer himself. He is best known for his work at the Sangeet Natak Academy as secretary. Megha learned Kathak for many years and had been a student of Pandit Birju Maharaj. Megha also been part of various theatre shows and been under the guidance of Indian theatre director Ebrahim Alkazi. Meghna Kothari has coordinated Rita Ganguly's live concert shows held in the United States of America and London.

Before entering films, she wanted to do a film appreciation course, but her shooting schedule kept her busy. After quitting movies in 2015, Meghna completed a film appreciation course at the Film and Television Institute of India Pune. Since then, she has been part of the Institute as a professor. Meghna teaches screenwriting. She had a brief stint as a theatre practitioner too. In 2017, Meghna shifted to Kaladham in Greater Noida, where many eminent artists lived.

In an interview, she mentioned that Noida was a vibrant place and less congested than any other northern city. Meghna considers the place perfect for film learning. She started Ctrl Alt Cinema, an 18-day residential course on the art of cinema. Meghna believes that like how some students want to learn engineering and management, there is enough number of students who want to learn film making too. A lot of aspirants considered the course to be helpful.
