Ankita Bhattacharya was born on 18 September 2002 in West Bengal, India. In 2017 she participated in the first season of Star Plus’s Dil Hai Hindustani along with her mother, Shashwati. They reached the final but finished at the third position. She participated in Zee Bangla Saregamapa 2019 and won the show. She got Rs 2 lakhs, a car, and the winner’s trophy. She won praises from famous artists like Sukhwinder Singh and Monali Thakur. She has gained immense popularity and fanned following after winning it. After finishing this show, she has made various appearances on other shows on ZEE 5 Bangla, including a popular one called Didi No 1. Ankita also has her youtube channel, which she actively keeps up with.

She has many followers and recently received her silver play button. She released her first original Bengali song on her channel known as Gondogol. She dedicated this song to students. Her songs are Eso syamala sundoro, Fule Fule Dhole Dhole, Eso Bondhu, Dariye Acho Tumi Amar, Shubho Nabobarsho, and Bhalobashi Bangla Ke. She is available on Youtube, Spotify, Gaana, and Hungama. She also engages with her fans on her Facebook and Instagram page by going live with people like Sharmila. She was also a part of an Independence Day program 2020 on Youtube called Mile Sur Mera Tumhara. She is also working on various songs with fellow artist Rahul Dutta.

She released a rendition with her mother of their favorite song, Bhenge mor ghorer chabi which is a part of Rabindra sangeet. She won the Jagjit Singh Award for Best Rising Singer at the 28th Annual Kalakar Awards 2020, where she performed a few songs too. She got featured in the Calcutta Times among other newspapers. She has also started doing shows in various colleges and has been a part of different live concerts. She was also a part of the music video Elo Maa Dugga which was a joint production by Eso Bondhu and Rooh Music. It featured 16 budding artists like her.

Prasanta Kumar Sur did the master direction and the concept and cinematography are by Rishi Roy Chowdhury. The lyrics are by Manik Bera, and the composer is Rahul Dutta. Ankita was asked to make a guest appearance in the daily soap Krishnakoli, which airs on Zee5 Bangla. She even performed with the ever-talented Indian playback singer Usha Uthup.
