Sitaram Panchal was born on August 22, 1963, in Narayangarh, Haryana, India. He went to the National School of Drama in New Delhi, one of the major schools in India for theatre, to further his studies in acting. His stint at the NSD honed his skills, thus opening the doorway into the Indian film industry. Sitaram Panchal was an Indian actor who appeared in several critically acclaimed films, such as "Peepli Live," "Slumdog Millionaire," and "Jolly LLB 2." He was an actor of great conviction in his expression and also one who added gravity to the movies he was a part of because of the way he portrayed characters with so much detail. Sitaram Panchal's life took a turn for the worse when kidney and lung cancer afflicted him. His fight against the disease was grim and amidst his meritorious services to the film industry. In 2017, his ailment came into the limelight, and the fans and other actors showered him with love. Panchal died in August 2017 amidst widespread grief and self-reflection over how actors and performers needed better support structures in India. His legacy remains in the power of performances that he has left behind, yet his struggle also underlined some very harsh realities in the industry.
