He is an Indian born British actor, born on 2nd April 1942. He did his schooling in, “The Doon School”. He learnt acting in London Academy Of Music And Dramatic Arts. He is very much recognized for his wonderful performance in movies like, Gandhi, Not Without My Daughter, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom to name a few.
A turning point in his career came, when he featured in Peter Brook's production of, ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’. After this venture, he was typecast in a lot of movies, which he wanted to avoid. He came back to India, and worked as an 'Editor and Journalist' till the early 1980’s.
Then came another opportunity when, Richard Attenborough asked Seth to potray 'Jawaharlal Nehru', in “Gandhi”, he was then consigned for the BAFTA Award for ‘Best Actor in a Supporting Role’.
He is one such actor who can’t stand the hustle and bustle of this country. He is much known for ruling the stage effortlessly. In one of his interviews he has mentioned that, he finds it difficult to fit in Indian Cinema Industry as the kind of work that is done here, is way too different from what he is used to in Hollywood.
