Pramathesh Chandra Barua Aka Pramathesh Barua was born on the 24th of October 1903 at Gauripur, Assam. He was the son of the then Zamindar of Gauripur. Pramathesh was an actor, director, and writer who worked mostly in the Hindi Cinema Industry. He did his schooling at Hare School and graduated from Presidency College, both at Calcutta.
He was married thrice. He has acted in about nineteen films. Some of them are Rani & Jawab directed by P C Barua, Devdas, Manzil, Bengal, Roop Lekha, etc. He has also directed several movies like Devdas, Maya, Mohabbat Ki Kasauti, Zindagi, Adhikar, Shap Mukti, etc.
Pramathesh has written the script for over ten films and has also been the cinematographer of a film named Zindagi which released in the year 1940. Unfortunately, he died on the 29th of November 1951 at Calcutta, West Bengal.
