Alankar Joshi or Master Alankar was a child artist in the Indian Film Industry. He worked as an actor during 1970s and early 1980s. He appeared in more than 100 Hindi movies. He grew popular because of Yash Chopra’s classic, “Deewar” (1955) where he played young Amitabh Bachchan. In the 70s and 80s he was one of the most sought child artists. He worked in many blockbuster hits like “Sholay” (1978), “Don” (1978), “Seeta Aur Geeta” (1972), “Dream Girl” (1977) and many more. He worked with most of the big production houses of Bollywood. He worked for famous directors like Yash Chopra, Chandra Barot, and Raj Kapoor.
He had a peak career until the early 1990s. But later as he grew older, his limelight slowly faded away. He established himself as a popular actor yet couldn’t sustain his stardom as he turned old. Then he tried to launch himself as a lead actor in many films. Yet he didn’t receive a good response. So, he left his film career and went to New York, United States for his higher studies in Computer Science. He now owns an IT business that is dealing with clients all around the world. Though he is not in the films, he still has some connections in the industry. His sister Pallavi Joshi work in some movies in the 1980s and 1990s. She also made her mark on Television. He also has two daughters, Anuja and Anisha Joshi. They are not a part of the film industry.
