Yuvraaj Parashar

Yuvraaj Parashar is a Bollywood actor and model born in the year 1979. Parashar is originally from Agra, India. Parashar is also known as Mukut Parashar, which is his nickname. Parashar has done a lot of movies. Parashar is best known for his role in the movie Dunno Y…Na Jaane Kyun. He played the role of a homosexual guy in the movie. Do not know Y is a movie about two men, one from Pakistan and one from India. The guys meet each other and fall in love. The movie is the first Indian movie which concentrates on the gay relationships. At the time when the movie hit the screens, the movie got stuck with the censor board for four years. The censor board first banned the movie. But on re-application, the movie got a green card.

The movie was well received at the box office. Though the movie did receive some criticism from the Pakistani viewer but many people appreciated Parashar’s work in the movie. The movie brought him both success and failure. On one hand he was acclaimed from Deputy Chief Minister Maharashtra Chhagan Bhujbal, for his portrayal of a gay man in the movie but the, on the other hand, his family was offended by the same. Parashar’s father officially cut off with his son because of his role in the movie. According to Parashar’s father, his performance in the movie was against the tradition and culture of India. His mother stated that ‘We are from a respected family, and I am appalled that he is playing a gay man’s role. We are finished’. The movie also had a sequel Dunno y2 – Life is a moment, which was released in the year 2014. Parashar has worked in movies like Fashion, Looking for Gay Bollywood, Zindagi: Kaisi Hai Paheli.
