Lavin Hirani

Lavin Hirani is an Indian lawyer involved in celebrity engagements and based in the Bollywood film and entertainment industries. He did his graduation in Bachelor of Commerce initially and later Bachelor of Law from University of Mumbai in 2007. His family background mainly having lawyers influenced him to pursue law. He then moved to Manchester to pursue Master of Law from The University of Manchester. He also did L.L.M in Intellectual Property Rights from The University of Manchester in 2009. He had gained many experiences since 2007, when he was a Litigation associate for Khaitan and Jayakar, dealing with Civil, Commercial and Criminal Litigation. Then he became a media and entertainment attorney for Naik Naik & Co. Advocates, Media & entertainment attorney for Hariani and Company in 2012, and Head of Legal Affairs for Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. in 2015.

He is also a Practice Head and Partner of MDP Legal, Advocates & Solicitors since 2022. He has over 15 years of experience in the media and entertainment, during which he has represented various A-list producers, studios, broadcasters on their professional routes regarding many issues. He is skilled in the development, acquisition, production, distribution and syndication of films and allied content from many partners worldwide. He has worked closely with dispute resolution team for media related litigation, playing a significant role in advising, formulating and defending contentious matters related to copyright, censorship and many other allied issues.
