Aalim Hakim Barber

This is the story of how the word Barber make no sense in front of the Hair Stylist; and the transformation of the Hair Cut Shops to the Lounges. Way back in 1950's or 1960's, there were no saloons to hair dress. Barbers used to come to houses, cut the hair, and then they leave collecting the charge. Slowly the shops opened which have a wooden chair, a dusty mirror, a comb, and a scissor. Later this business witnessed constant growth in the industry and became a good idea to do one. The days have changed from the time barbers used to come to our home and cut the hair, to the period where people and celebrities line up in front of a Longue to get their hair dressed. The one who changed the status of hair styling from business to industry and the modern guru in Indian Hair Styling is Aalim Hakim.

As he lost his father at a very tender age, he learned some tricks and skills from his uncle and made his career. He rose to the heights of the most sought out hairdresser for the Bollywood boys. His service for film industry started with the flick Maachis. He is the creative person with the aim to teach not just the celebrities but everyone about how to treat their hair.

At first, Aalim Hakim wanted to become an actor. With this thought, he opened salons across India, mostly in the southern part and in Dubai. He started Tattoo Booths too with the name Hakim's Aalim Hair and Tatoo Longue. He is the first person to hire a DJ for his saloon. Aalim Hakim is the inspiration for the upcoming enthusiastic hairstylers. He initiated Halim's Aalim Hair Academy to make the students fit into the demanding hairdressing business. This institute offers different courses like diploma in hair styling, etc. As it got tremendous access, many students are planning to carve their niche in this field. He opines that it is also a sort of creative outlet. He suggests that people should not follow the trend set by the celebrities. They have to try their style because everything doesn't suit for everyone. Nevertheless, he climbed to the status of a celebrity, and it is evident when Bollywood stars attended the opening ceremony of his branch.
