Chaitanya Devarakonda

Chaitanya Devarakonda is a Hindi film and video editor based in Mumbai, Maharashtra with almost eight years of experience in editing films, and web series, writing, producing, and directing. He has done a one-year Filmmaking Course at MIT World Peace University, Pune, Maharashtra. In 2017, he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Video Editing from the Film and Television Institute of India. Pune. Till today, he worked for various streaming platforms, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. 

Chaitanya started his career as a Senior Design Engineer at Larsen & Toubro in 2015. In 2017, he started working with Sony Music Entertainment and directed, edited, and mixed audio for music videos to the standards of worldwide streaming. Thereafter, he served as the Assistant Professor for a Video Editing Course at the Film and Television Institute of India. Later, he got engaged with Star Sports Channel and made shows like Game Plan, Pre-show, Countdown for Cricket and Football, added sound effects, and designed audio for high-quality promos, and advertisements.

He also prepared scripts for shooting and edited the clips to make them ready for telecast. Next year, in 2017, he started working with Bennett Coleman, a Times Group. Here, he created pitch promos for the web series by adding visuals, sound effects, and music. He had to work extremely closely with the creative director, programming & and publicity departments, and graphic designers. He was responsible for going through the scripts and giving feedback to them. This helped reinforce the brand network to increase their projects and ultimately profits. In 2019, Chaitanya got the opportunity to work for Netflix.

As an associate editor, he worked in the Bombay Begums Web Series and was responsible for handling the sound effects, designing and balancing the entire audio for three episodes. He was responsible for reviewing and editing film along with its audio by selecting the best combination of performance, sequencing, and timing. He also mixed and reviewed the sound by working closely with the music composers and sound recordists.

Chaitanya got another major project, called Wakaalat From Home, an Amazon Original TV series released in 2020. In this project, he participated in creative meetings to assist the team in developing ideas and defining project deadlines for 10 episodes. He also added great value to the show by designing and editing audio and adding effects for all episodes. In the same year, he got to work as an Associate Editor with Netflix in its popular show Fame Game, produced by Dharma Productions. In 2022, also worked for Physics Wallah, an Amazon Prime Mini TV Series.

Later, he became the Head of Creative Development at Powell Films in Los Angeles, California, United States. He has now been working as a freelance editor for a TV reality show ‘For the Love of Dilf at Bravo Editor. Moreover, Chaitanya is highly skilled in Editing, Film Production, Video Production, Advertising, Scripting, Audio Editing, Music Videos, Digital Video, After Effects, Content Development, etc.
