Archana Ghangrekar

Archana Ghangrekar is an Indian cinematographer from Mumbai, India, is available to work worldwide. She is a graduate of film cinematography from FTII Pune. Her graduation film, Meena Lap, aka Fish Musings, was critically acclaimed and won many accolades on the international level, including the Grand Prix 2018 and the Ritvik Ghatak Gold Medal 2018 for best short fiction.

During four years of undergraduate studies, she joined a film society, a short filmmakers club, and a couple of close friends. That one decision to register at a film society changed her life. Along the way, she developed a strong passion for storytelling, which led her to leave an extremely lucrative career in computer engineering and a highly-paid job to pursue filmmaking.

She studied and evolved as a visual storyteller in the ripe atmosphere of FTII over four years. She was exposed to the best of world cinema, which reshaped her aesthetics completely. Archana is fluent in English, Marathi, and Hindi and understands Kannada and Bangla. She is also semi-fluent in Japanese. She is open to collaborating on projects from all over the world. She has extensive experience shooting with kids and shooting guerilla style in the by-lanes of Mumbai and Banaras on more than a few projects.
