Vinoo Choliparambil is a Hindi film director who made his directing debut with the short film Vitthal, which was the National Award for Best Debut Director. Vitthal is based around an angry person whose parents, following the death of his grandfather, according to Hindu death rituals, shaved off his head and which becomes traumatic for 12 years old Vitthal, the protagonist of the film. The short film Vitthal won many prizes at various film festivals like. Dubai International Film Festival and Mumbai International Film Festival.
The film was also honoured at Busan, Montreal, Tampere, International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and other film festivals. Vinoo also has worked as an editor for promos of films, feature films and documentaries. Moreover, he was selected as a jury member twice in the non-fiction section of International Film Festival Festival of India (IFFI)
