Vineet Verma

Vineet Verma was born on 25 November 1982 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. A filmmaker and animator, with experience in direction, screenplay, production, editing, and animation, he comes from a long line of creatives: his grandfather, Bhagwan Das Varma, was a writer; his mother, Vijaya Verma, was a classical singer. His father, N.K.Varma, runs a small printing press in New Delhi and has a long family tradition of creativity and entrepreneurship. Verma began his journey in animation right after school. For a decade, he worked with such companies as Escotoonz Entertainment, UTV Software Communications, and Crest Animation Studios, where he honed his skills in 2D and 3D animation. It was during that period that he also pursued his studies, acquiring a Bachelor of Information Technology from IGNOU. He also learned 3D animation through courses in May and Max to begin learning by himself. A senior animator for Word World, a PBS Kids series that won its Daytime Emmy in 2009.

He moved to New York City in 2008 to pursue filmmaking at the New York Film Academy. This was a transition from animation to live-action filmmaking. Since then, he has written, directed, and produced many short films. His film Colors was officially selected at the Big Apple Film Festival and screened at Tribeca Cinemas. He was also invited to judge the Best Animation/Experimental Film category at the Derek Freese High School Film Festival in 2010. The filmography of Vineet Verma is a showcase of versatility and talent. As a filmmaker, he has directed and produced Just Like Us, Colors, In Search Of, Bad Day. Meanwhile, as an animator, he has worked on Alpha and Omega and WordWorld.
