Swapnil Vasant Kapure is an Indian director and writer. He was born on 28 June. The National Film Awardee is an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. After completing B.Sc. Chemistry from North Maharashtra University Jalgaon, Swapnil went on to pursue the know-how of video production at the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Pune. At FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), he went on to make distinguished films as a student. His documentary on labor’s spot titled "Thiyya" has received the prestigious CILECT's Asia Pacific Award of 2018. CILECT is the international association of 180 film and television schools from 65 countries.
His final hit film, "Bhar Dupari" (The Afternoon) won the National Film Award for the non-feature category in the 65th National Film Awards The National Film Awards gets presented every year >> Read More... of India in 2018. It also received accolades at film festivals across the country, including at Mumbai International Film Festival. The film is “an insightful portrayal of a woman finding the courage to fight her demons.” It was selected in the Indian Panorama Section of 49th IFFI at Goa in 2018. Both films were premiered at many film festivals in India and abroad and have received many awards. Swapnil is interested in telling stories that are closest to human life. Over the year, he has worked as an assistant director, co-writer, and director of various features documentary and promotional films in Marathi with renowned filmmakers in the industry.
