Shubhashish Bhutiani is an Indian film director, actor, screenwriter and, scriptwriter. He was born on 21 July 1991. The film entitled, MuktiBhawan marked his directorial debut. It is set against the background of the 1984 awful riot. His UG film betrayed his sensitivity and his proficiency as well. It also fetched him many awards or laurels. Venice International Film Festival, the National Award for Best Production Film and near 25 International awards. Kush was selected for the 2014 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. He grew up in a puny village Himalayan town wherein he went to Woodstock School.
He was immensely involved in works concerning theatres, he thought of transitioning from acting to writing and mapped out his way and learned filmmaking at the School of Visual Arts in New York. His film “Kush” was premiered at the 70th Venice International Film Festival. Kush won him the Orizzonti Prize for Best Short Film.
