Shomshuklla

Shomshuklla was born on 9th of November in the year 1965. She is a scriptwriter, film director, theater personality, writer and singer from India. She was born in Kolkata which is a city in West Bengal, India. Her parents were Bengali. Her father was a student at Shantiniketan, and his teacher was Rabindranath Tagore. Her mother was a lecturer. At the age of seven, she started learning music form of “Rabindra Sangeet” from “Dakshinee” which was a music teaching institute. In the year 1985, she met her husband named “Bhaskar Das” in a mini bus in Kolkata. After six months of meeting, they both got married to each other. They both have a child named “Uditvanu Das” who is their only child. He was born in the year 1989. In the year 1990, she left Kolkata and moved to Ahmedabad. In Ahmedabad, she learned music from a disciple of “ Pandit Jasraj Pandit Jasraj is a classical vocalist. He received >> Read More... ” named “Krishnakant Parekh.”

In the year 1995, she moved to Mumbai to make her career. From 1995 onwards, Shomshuklla started learning music from a well-known musician named “Dr. Prabha Atre.” She started her musical career with the album named “Dhin Tara.” The album was released in the year 1998, and was produced by “Times Music.” In the year 2001, her second album was released named “Raahein” whose video was shot in Corsica. In the year 2003, she released her remixes album named “Glimpse.” Her fourth and fifth album name was “Café Kalighat” which was released in the year 2004, and “Kolkata Jam” which was released in the year 2006. In the year 2005, her second last album was released named “Electrik.”

In the year 2008, Shomshuklla’s last album named “Sonic Frames” was released. She has also released two Bengali songs albums named “Mukto Paakhi” which was released in the year 2001, and “Chuye Jete Moon” which was released in the year 2003. Shomshuklla has also worked as a poet, and written her first poem with Rupa Publications. She has written many books as Close Every Door, I Have Seen That Face Before, Seconds before Sunrise, and much more.

She has also worked as a film director in the film named “Sandxastle.” She has directed the whole film, independently. The film was released on 14th of March in the year 2014. It was a story of a loving mother and an aspiring writer. Currently, Shomshuklla is living in Mumbai. She also has a dog named “Spice,” and she is a big animal lover. She enjoys reading books and novel in her free time. She also likes interior designing and is fond of writing.
