Sanjay Khanduri

Sanjay Khanduri who is also known as Sanjay M Khandduri, is an Indian Film Director who works in Hindi language. He is best known for his movie ‘Ek Chalis Ki Last Local’. He is also a screenwriter and is differentiated for his cinematic - novel style. He was born in an affluent Hindu family and belongs to Uttarakhand. However, he was brought up in the capital city of India, New Delhi. He completed his schooling at Delhi’s Blue Bells International School. He did his graduation in Electronics from Delhi University. Although he was all set to become an engineer, he found his interest lingering in media and hence, joined journalism.

He then started making ad-films and finally became a filmmaker. He started his journalism career with the news channel, TV18 as an investigative correspondent. He eventually joined one of the most prominent VFX companies in Mumbai city – Crest Communication. During his work here, he developed an interest in filmmaking. It became a DVD cult amongst the youth. His next flick was ‘Kismat Love Paisa Dilli’. It was a swift satire on the country’s increasing corruption. Although it received below average responses at the box office, it managed to garner the attention of various international awards for the unique direction and screenplay by Sanjay. In the year 2010, Sanjay won the ‘Silver Palm Award’ at Mexico International Film Festival for Excellence in Cinema for his debut film – Ek Challis Ki Last Local.
