Randeep is a photographer, filmmaker cum passionate activist, and professor. He was born in a hamlet in Punjab on 10 January 1977. Name of his father is Bagh Singh. In the village, land is like a source of living for people, and he was born into a landless family, and this made him leave his studies in 12th class. Randeep was enthusiastic about paintings and photographs, and he started sending his art to art festivals, which started his journey in this field.
At 30, he thought about giving a chance to his studies and got admission to Chandigarh University, where he learned more about graphics. After graduation, he got his first job as a photojournalist.
In 2008, Randeep created famous documentary, the making of democratic republic Nepal. After that, he didn’t stop showing passion as an activist and created one of the most famous films, Landless. He also received award from Zindabad Trust. The film was about the land struggle, the caste, and how Dalit communities suffer.
He made a short film, Meri Pehchan, with census operations. He also contributed to Film Jeeda and Saida: Voices of the Margins. He is someone who is known for gaining knowledge and spreading it as much as possible, and that’s what he is doing as a professor.
