In an interview, Raj claimed that Bollywood doesn’t do enough for the youth of India as there are little to no films at all about teenagers in this industry. He mentions how his movie tackles with the subject of overexposure that teenagers face, and how they deal with it. He also admired the actors in the movie, as he only wanted real actors who are believable and not sellable actors just for the sake of the box-office. Apart from direction, Raj is also credited as writer, editor and music composer on the movie.

His next movie Jigariyaa was released in 2014, where he not just directed but also wrote the story of the movie. This movie was again based on teenage love.
