Prasoon Pandey is an Indian director, who has majorly worked in the Hindi film industry. He was ranked as one among the Top 100 advertising film directors in the world. Prasoon was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan as the youngest of 9 siblings. He grew up in a household which instilled a great appreciation for arts in him. He trained in music and drama from his early childhood days. Even as a high schooler, he participated in renowned theatricals and designed his first-ever light and sound set when he was in 12th grade.
Realizing his potential in media, he joined the National Institute of Design and graduated with a degree in Visual Communication and Design. His career in advertising began with the firm Lintas (renamed Lowe) as a Creative Director. His brilliant content and visuals made him a sought after figure in the ad industry. In 1995, he was the recipient of the titles of Best Director, Best Script, Best Film, Best Music, and Best Cinematography at the Advertising Filmmaker’s awards (IAAFA) for his debut directorial film. His commercial ‘One Black Coffee’ for the Ericsson Company was the first-ever Indian advertisement to win at the Cannes Film Festival. He was to win numerous other International accolades throughout his career.
He appeared at Clios, New York Festivals, Asia Pacific Ad Fest Lotuses, and Indian Advertising shows. Prasoon was ranked among the Top 25 directors in the world by the Gunn Report in 2001. He founded the ‘Corcoise Films’ agency as a platform for creating unique media projects. He named the company after his three-year-old daughter’s word for ‘Cockroach,’ and its banner was designed by his son, who was six at the time. Prasoon has also been a part of many acclaimed shorts such as ‘Bhopal Express’ and ‘We Are One Family.’ He continues to be a legend in the Indian advertising sector.
