Nishtha Jain is a prominent director and producer in India who primarily works in the Hindi entertainment industry. Nishtha started her training for A.J.K. Mass Communication Research Centre at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Initially, she worked as an editor for News track and Eyewitness, video news magazines. To flourish her skills, Nishtha joined the Film and Television Institute of India in film direction.
Nishtha was assigned as a juror at IDFA, ZFF, Cinema Verité, and IDSFFK. Nishtha's notable works include documentaries like Gulabi Gang Click to look into! >> Read More... , Lakshmi and Me, and City of Photos. A few of her other works include Family Album, 6 Yards to Democracy, Call it Slut, etc. She also explored narratives like Saboot/Proof (2019) and virtual reality (Submerged) 2016. Nishtha’s work was recognized and appreciated not just nationally, but worldwide too. She was offered lectures at many famous foreign universities like Stanford, NYU, Wellesley College, Cambridge University, University of London, Danish Film School, and many more.
Her works were also presented in International Film Festivals. Nishtha is a Chicken and Egg Award Winner, Member of the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences, Film Independent Global Media Maker Fellow, and she also received Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellowship. She has written her name in golden letters in the history of India.
