Kabir Bhatia is an Indian director and producer born on 24 July 1982 in Washington, USA. His powerful visual style has been imprinted on the film industry in Malaysia for the past 20 years. At UTV-Mumbai, he began his career as a filmmaker in 1992 when he was 24 years old. In order to eventually work across all platforms as a Director, Writer, and Executive Producer, he was developing his TV talents. When the UTV GROUP established its ASEAN regional headquarters, he relocated to Malaysia and produced and directed a variety of TV formats. He spent ten years as a partner and managing director of Filmscape, a reputable production house in Malaysia, from 2005 to 2016. In addition to their primary line of work in TV and film production, they also successfully entered the commercial, PSA, and political campaign industries.
Kabir left his relationship with Filmscape to focus on fewer projects after directing and producing a number of ads, travelogues, fiction for television, and ten features throughout the ASEAN area, including Indonesia and Singapore. Following the success of his first feature film, Cinta, in Malaysia, Kabir was given the opportunity to direct the same movie for the Indonesian film industry under the English title Love. Some of the popular films directed by him are Don, Sangkar, Dollah Superstar, Pulang, Gilla Baby, and Juang.
