Bikramjit Gupta is a famous Indian filmmaker, independent film director, and scriptwriter. He has over 15 years of experience in his profession. He grew up in Siliguri, Darjeeling, West Bengal and is known for his drama Anchal: The Stagnant (2012) and short films Laden Is Not My Friend (2003) and Jal Daanav Water Demon (2021). "Anchal" and "Laden Is Not My Friend" were selected for screening in various International Film festivals.

He grew up with parents who made their careers in cultural activities. His father was a stage actor. His mother was a vocal artist. The cultural atmosphere of his family inspired him to watch numerous movies that eventually captivated him. The first movie he saw was a mythological one where he faced demons and gods. He pursued a Masters in Film Studies from Jadavpur University. He received the Best Film award for his short fiction "Laden Is Not My Friend" in the  2nd international video film festival at Thiruvananthapuram organised by the Government of Kerala in 2003. It too got featured in various festivals like the 8th Kolkata Film Festival (video section), Indo-British Digital Film Festival 2003( Shown at British Council  Kolkata) Indian cultural event (Spain), Vikalp 2004 Mumbai, Films for freedom. His other notable works include "Forlon Kingdom", a documentary film based on the conflict between man and animal, "Warm Ice", and "Awakening". Corporate films like "Exide Life", "NBIRT", "Tethys", "East Sikkim Promo", "Adamas Knowledge City", and" Kolkata International Film Festival". He also worked on advertisements like Nnoni Silver, Anjali Diamonds, Anjali Brand, PathFinder and Desun Hospital. He made documentaries on eminent personalities of West Bengal like Miranl Sen, Nabanita Dev Sen and Buddhadev Guha(2013). Other documentaries include Path Of Oblivion(2011), Coolie Kahini(2008), Nepali- The sister language of Bengali(2007), Bengal outside Benga'l(2005), etc. He produced a television series, "Shaker Rabibaar' broadcasted on Akash Bangla(2009), and worked as an executive producer on 'Kolkata Gaan' and  'Jatrapother Anandagan'.He also produced docu dramas like  'Anibarya',' Kaise Ho Kishori', 'Main Kahata Ankhon Dekhi' and 'Rupantar'.
