Shiraz Ahmed was born on 10 th March 1968 in Mumbai, India. He is a renowned film writer best known for writing the story, screenplay and dialogues for Indian Cinema. Shiraz has not done any professional course when it comes to writing scripts. He wrote scripts all by himself; he also has a knack for reading fiction novels. He has a collection of more than 2000 novels. Shiraz started with writing for a TV series called “Ab AyegaMaza” when Johnny Lever recommended his name to the producers of the show.

The show was aired in 1994. For 6 years he went on to write mostly for TV shows rather than movies. His first movie as a screenwriter was Dadagiri starring MithunChakraborty in 1997. Shiraz then worked in the following movies: Humraaz (2002), Janasheen (2003), Aitraaz (2004), Naqab (2007), Karzzzz (2008), Race (2008), Wanted (2009), Knock Out (2010), Prince (2010), MilengeMilenge (2010), Rowdy Rathore (2012), Race 2 (2013), RamaiyaVastavaiya (2013), Singh is Bling (2015). And is currently working for Race 3.

He writes multiple genres of movies such as thriller, romance, drama and action. Shiraz was nominated for IIFA Award for Best Story, Filmfare Award for Best Story and Guild Award for Best Story. He won the Screen Weekly Award in 2009 for Best Screenplay for Race (2008).
