Poornima Kaushik

Poornima Kaushik is an exponent of the Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam and has achieved a great degree of excellence and finesse in this fine art. Having trained from the age of 5 under the able guidance of Guru Kalaimamani Smt. K.J. Sarasa, Poornima has been dancing for more than two decades to diverse audiences in cities and towns all over India and also in a few places abroad.

She currently trains under her mother-in-law Guru. Smt. Padma Murali of Padmalaya Dance Foundation, Poornima is an executive member of the International Dance Alliance, Bangalore Chapter and Associate Artistic Director of Padmalaya Dance Foundation, Bangalore. She also trains several students in her own dance academy. Her students will be a part of 'Dancing Tales'.

Poornima Kaushik is an artist of the dance form of Bharatnatyam, a classical dance form of South India. Belonging from Tamil Nadu, Poornima was born into a very distinguished family and thus was trained into the dance from an early age in Coimbatore under the guidance of Guru "Kalaimamani" Smt. Poornima has been performing for over two decades and has worked in cities and places all over India and also has some international presence.

Any artist who wants to capture the pure essence of their art has to work on it for an extensive period, and Poornima was no different as she was trained from a very young age to harness the qualities and elegance of the dance form. To the people who are familiar with the classical dance, they know how difficult it is to excel at it. Still, Poornima has made her name in the past decade in this dance form by achieving excellence through rigorous hard work and dedication to the art. Carnatic music is also one of her talents.

Smt. Padma Murali is the current trainer of Poornima who is also her mother in law and the duo practices and works on various productions.
