Komala Vardhan

Komala Vardhan is a renowned dancer known for her original choreography, a recognized painter, a photographer, and an author. She has developed a distinctive manner of capturing dance movements on canvas. She was highlighted as a unique artist who can show dance as both a performance and a visual art in the Television News Bulletin in the USA. She is also an extraordinary photographer who possesses an exceptional sense of perception.

She was previously a member of the Indian Federation of Photography for thirty years or more. Her images cover a wide range of topics, including nature, people, places, travel, documentation, art, and architecture, among others. She has competed in and received prizes at both national and international photographic exhibitions. Her work was chosen for the Around the World with Photographic Society of America exhibition from the Federation of Indian Photography's All India Colour Contest (1984).

Her images showcase the artistic eye in their aesthetic manifestation. ‘A versatile artiste-Komala Vardan’ is a documentary on her life that has been made by the Government of India's films. During her journey to Japan at the invitation of the Japan Foundation, she was honored by the Governor of Kobe with the Hyogo Prefecture. She also holds several other additional titles and honors.
