Cornel Rodrigues

Cornel Rodrigues is an Indian dancer and choreographer. His full name is Cornel Octavia Rodrigues. He came into the limelight with his mind-blowing performances in the Indian reality dance show, Dance India Dance (Doubles). His dance style of representing stories with his movements became the reason for his success in the show. Cornel took birth in Jeppinamogaru, Mangalore.

As a kid, he had a keen interest in dancing. Cornel went to the St. Joseph High School, during his school days, he participated in the dancing contest and won several certificates. Cornel did not take any professional dancing lessons he taught himself.

In an interview, he told that he watched YouTube videos and that is how he mastered the art. He does dance forms including Bollywood, Latin, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Modern, etc. Cornel is a graduate from the St. Aloysius College, Mangalore; and he was active in cultural activities during his college years. During Dance India Dance, Cornel was a member of dancer Geeta Kapoor’s gang. At the season, the duo won ‘Best Performance of the Day’ title several times. The first season of Dance India Dance Doubles aired on Zee TV. Cornel and Sonali went on to the finals and got declared as first runners-up in the finale. His moves expressed ideas and stories.

This talent earned him a lot of following among the Indian youth. After Dance India Dance, Cornel started receiving offers from other channels for their shows. He appeared in Jhalak Dikhlaja Season 5 and six on Colors TV.
