Pravesh Mallick

Pravesh Mallick is a Bollywood composer, songwriter, and Playback singer born on 1st July1980 in Janakpur Dham, Nepal. His father, Kameshwar Mallick, is also a poet and singer, and his mother, Sushila Mallick, a singer, taught Pravesh the initials of music. Pravesh has four brothers and two sisters, all associated with music. Praveshstarted his early musical training under Pandit Laxmi Narayan Das, Pandit Shiv Lal, and Pandit Ram in Mithila. Later, he and his brother Ramesh Mallick moved to Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi, for higher training.

Pravesh is a Sangeet Shiromani Diploma holder and has done master's degree in Hindustan classical music from Delhi University. After completing his training, he joined as a music teacher at a school in Noida. Pravesh also formed a band named Sparsh and performed across India. Later, with the help of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and AR Rahman, he made another band Sanidhya for which he composed genres like Sufi rock fusion. Pravesh later married Amrita Karn Mallick and was blessed with a child.

In 2016 he got his first major break when as a singer in Prakash Jha’s film Jai Gangajal he made his debut in Bollywood, where he worked with Salim-Sulaiman and sang a Maya Thagni song.
