Om Prakash Sonik, majorly known by his stage name 'Omi', was an Indian music composer. He was born in Sialkot and then came to Bombay at an age of 8. He died in the year 2016 at an age of 77. He was the nephew of the music director Master Sonik and together they were popularly called the Sonik-Omi duo. They had composed music for nearly 125 Bollywood films.
This duo was popular in the music industry from the 1950-1980s. This duo got a break in Director Rawal's 'Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya'. The duo worked with great singers such as Mohammad Rafi,
