Vivek Kandasamy

Among all the people who have established their mark in the film and cinematography industry, Vivek Kandasamy, the founder of Film Engineers, secures a remarkable place. But life had never been all awards and accolades for him. Due to his health condition, he couldn't go out and play outside like the kids his age. And this entirely diverted his focus and attention toward his father’s computer. Having a never-ending curiosity and fascination with technology, Vivek found himself able to build a software company at 17. He has completed his High School diploma in Computer Engineering from DOTE and B.Sc in Design and Visual Communications from Annamalai University. Even though this may sound like the perfect life for many people, that was far from reality. He had struggled a lot, especially when he moved to Chennai with high hopes of exploring a new dimension in cinema. And in that place grew his inspiration to work as a technical consultant for films in Mumbai.

He has many coveted titles to his name, including being the Co-Founder at Snixins Technologies, Digital Imaging Technician at Prime Focus Ltd.Driven by a passion, he found Film Engineers, a successful company. He is an inspiration to many students of the film industry , as a part-time visiting faculty for Virtual Production in Whistling Woods International. He specializes in Virtual Cinematography, Pre Viz, Film engineering, Color grading, Visual effects, and Composting. He mentioned in a recent interview that he was currently working on a product called Portal, which integrated a necessary camera accessory with a game development platform to create hyper-realistic CGI environments in real-time studio space. He has created an affordable system accessible to independent filmmakers and productions. And he contributes significantly to the growth of the cinema industry across the world.
