Suhas Rao

Suhas Rao was born on 16 August 1976 in Mangalore. He resides in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Suhas studied at Navodaya English High School. He studied diploma in motion picture, photography, and video photography at the Institute of Film and Television, India, from 1995-96. He studied for a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Mumbai from 1992-95. He is a member of the Western India Cinematographer Association (WICA).

He worked on Media (arts) at S Star Creations. He was a director of photography and cinematographer at Balaji Telefilms, Mumbai, from August 2009 to July 2014, where he worked on serials like Karam Apna Apna (2006-09), Koi Aane Ko Hai, and Kesar (2002-07), and Bandini. He was a cinematographer at Saregamapa India Productions in Mumbai from January 2015 to November 2017. He has been a managing director and cinematographer at Saanvi Creative Moves, SCM Studios, Mumbai, since September 2012. He has been a director of photography at Optimistic India since January 2020. Some of the reputed production houses he worked with include Dilip Sood Films, Jar Pictures, Creative Eye, and A. K. International.

He has worked as an actor in the short film Shaji (2011) as Ravi and as a director, cinematographer, and producer in the short The Broken Blue Bangles (2017). He was the director of photography for the Hindi feature film Summer of 99, Rab Se Hai Dua (2022-23), Lakhan Leela Bhargava Story soon >> Read More... He has done ad films for Taj Inner Circle, Imigo LED Lights, Manjhi Detergent Powder and Cake, Hexafilia, Exide Batteries, Annapoorna Atta, American Express Visa Card, and Hero Honda.

He was a cinematographer in many TV series and films, which include Yahaan Ke Hum Sikandar (2011), Oh My Pyo!
