Manu Anand

Manu Anand is a well known Cinematographer in Indian Film Industry. Manu Anand was born in Patiala- The Royal City, Punjab. Manu has his house in Ajit Nagar, Patiala, where his family lives now. He completed his schooling from British Co-ed School. His father’s name is SK Anand. He used to be the member of Punjab State Electricity Board (now retired). He, for his later studies, moved to Delhi, where he enrolled his application in St. Stephens College. His application got selected there. He did his post graduation in visual media from Jamia Milia, New Delhi in 2000. Manu in his college days developed a keen interest in photography and joined his college’s Photography society and later, become the Secretary of Photographic Society of the college. His interests in photography made him enroll for post graduation program in visual media. After completing his post graduation, he started his career as a freelancer immediately. Before making his debut in Indian Film Industry, Manu Anand worked in many TV shows, commercials, documentaries, short films, as well as full-length Tibetan film. He completed his gigs in TV shows lie Roadies 1 for MTV, Business Baazigar and Just Set Go and many more. Now, it’s been five years since he is working as a Cinematographer in Film Industry as well. He made his debut in Indian Film Industry as a Cinematographer, in “Shudh Desi Romance,” directed by Maneesh Sharma, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra, Vani Kapoor, and Rishi Kapoor. The movie gained a lot of appreciation from the audience and debutant Manu Anand was appreciated for his work in the movie. His first movie was a real success. After this, he worked in “Dum Laga Kar Haisha” in 2015. The movie was directed by Sharat Katariya, starring Ayushman Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar, and Sanjay Mishra. Manu Anand won Filmfare Award for Best Cinematographer for this movie. After the great success in his career, Manu worked as a Cinematographer in the movie “FAN,” directed by Maneesh Sharma, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Sayani Gupta, and Glenn Webster. He is now working in the movie “Zero,” which is supposed to be released this year, on 13 August, 2018. His name was also nominated for Zee Cinema Award for Best Cinematography. Rather than Cinematography, Manu Anand is also a sports person. In his school days, he used to play all racquet games and eventually developed more skill in Tennis. He is also a state-level Tennis player. He is also a book lover. His school principal when interviewed after his success in his debutant movie said, “He was a voracious reader in his growing years, and he was allowed the open access to school’s library.”

Marc Koninckx is a Belgium Cinematographer well known for his work in “Rock On 2,” “A Far off place," and many more. He is a member of the A.F.C., French society of Cinematographers, and also the member of the S.B.C. (Society of Belgian Cinematographers). He was born in Brussels, Belgium. He completed his education from RITCS, Royal Institute of Theatre, Cinema and Sound, Brussels. After completing his studies, he immediately started working as an Assistant Cameraman, and then his career picked up a pace, making him camera and Steadicam operator. He started as an assistant cameraman. He worked in White, a movie based on the novel “Dutch ‘The White’,” referring to the blond man, directed by Robbe De Hert, starring, Eric Clerckx, Blanka Heirman, and Willy Vandermeulen. He, then, collaborated with Louis Malle, Lewis Teague, and much more, when he began his career. He worked in “Au revoir les enfants” (Goodbye Children), directed by Luis Malle, starring Gaspard Manesse, Raphael Fejito, Francine Racette, ” The Jewel on the Nile” (Jewel on the Fire), directed by Lewis Teague, starring Michael Doughlas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito, “Les Nuits Fauves” (Fauve Nights), directed by Cyril Collard, “Merci La Vie” ( Thanks) , directed by Bertrand Biller, and “Queen Margot,” directed by Patrice Chéreau, starring Isabelle Adjani, Daniel Auteuil, Virna Lisi, Vincent Pérez, and Dominique Blanc. He was then, appointed as the 2nd unit director of Photography in 1993. He worked as a unit director of photography, for the films such as “Stealing Beauty,” directed by Bernardo Bertolucii, starring Live Tyler, Joseph Fiennes, Jeremy Irons, Sinéad Cusack, and Rachel Weisz, “A Far of Place,” directed by Mikael Saloen, starring Resse Witherspoon, Ethan Randall, Jack Thompson, and Maximilian Schell, “French Kiss” directed by Lawrence Kasden, starring Meg Ryan and Kevine Kline, and “The Ninth gate, directed by Roman Polansky, starring Johnny Dep, Lena lin, Frank Lamgella, James Russo, Jack Tylor, and Emmanuelle Seigner. In 1998, Marc Koninckx became 1st unit Director of Photography and in 2008, he won Prize of Hope at Cannes Film Festival, for his work in the film, Johnny Mad Dog. Many of the movies he worked in were awarded several awards in various Film Festivals. “The day god walked Away” won Kutxa Prize for the best film at Sanebestian International Film Festival 2009. In 2012, he was nominated for the Best Light-Prix Lumiére CST for his work in “Rebellion,” directed by Matthieu Kasovitz. Marc Koninckx also worked in many Tamil and Malayalam movies. His work was appreciated in Indian Film Industry. He was nominated for Best Cinematography, in Vijay Awards. He also worked in many Hindi movies, which includes “Rock on 2,” directed by Sujaat Saudagar, starring Farhan Akhtar , Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Shashank Arora, Prachi Desai, and Kumud Mishra. He also worked for many French TV shows which includes “La Nourrice” (The Nanny), “Les Bottes” (The Boots), “Le Voyages de la grande-duchesse”(The Travels of Grand Duches).
