Balu Dahifale is a well-known cinematographer in India. Balu was born in a village in Nagar District. He did his initial education in town, but later his father brought him to Mumbai for further education. He studied in Sion and lived in slum areas with his father. Balu's financial condition was unstable, due to which he faced many hardships.He made sure to study till 12th, so he went to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College for the same. But, at last, he kneeled to his poor economic condition and left his studies. He started his first job with an NGO named Door Step School.
Later, he joined an NGO through the Rotary Club for two years, and as a part-time job, he played musical instruments in local bars and restaurants. Sooner or later, your passion will find you, even if you are lost. In 1995, Balu discovered his inclination towards photography when he bought a camera, and did the same in the NGO where he worked.
Finally, he followed his heart, left his job in 1996 and joined the film industry to follow his dream. Babu worked on several projects as a cameraman. He got his first break as an independent cameraman in the Marathi TV industry and as an independent director of photography in a Hindi TV series. Balu's work flourished over time; that's why he got opportunities to work with renowned production houses like Balaji Telefilms, Siddhant Vision, Neela Telefilms, Shashi-Sumit Production, and he proudly accepted all.
From coming from an economically weak background to standing on his own feet, Balu's journey was harrowing, but the end result was equally fruitful. Balu's story is indeed an inspiration for anyone stuck in the dilemma of profession and passion.
