Phulwa Khamkar

Phulwa Khamkar Also spelled Phulawa Khamkar is very famous and talented Indian Choreographer and also a well-named dancer. She works in Bollywood and Marathi films. She was the winner of the first Dance reality show Boogie Woogie Click to look into! >> Read More... , season 1 in the year 1997 and was among top 5 finalist in the famous dance reality show Dance India Dance Super Moms in 2013 which was telecasted on Zee TV.

She did the choreography in Marathi and Hindi Films like Happy New Year Click to look into! >> Read More... (2014), Natarang (2010), Julie (2016), Kuni Mugli Deta Ka Mugli (2012), and Mitwaa (2015). She was also the winner of ‘Eka Peksha Ek (season 1) which was a Dance reality show on Zee TV and was a judge `for the second and the for the third season in the same dance show.

In 2010 She received the Zee Gaurav Award for the best choreography for the famous song Apsara Aali from Natrang. She was named Phulwa by her Father. Her father was a Marathi Literature writer and give the name to his daughter ‘Phulwa’ as it was the first Magazine he wrote for his daughter. Khamkar Went to Balmohan Vidyamandirin Dadar for her Studies.

Further, She completed her graduation in commerce from the very respected University of Mumbai, pursuing M.Com. She is a well trained in Kathak and Contemporary Dance. She learned her dance training from Ashatai Joglekar. Firstly, She took lessons in Kathak and then learned contemporary dance. In the first 15 years of life, She did not learn any dance but was trained in Gymnastics. 

She got Married to Amar Khamkar who is the Owner/Partner at Ashok Khamkar Masala. Amar Khamkar studied at Ramniranjan Anandilal Polar College Of Commerce and Economics. Currently, He lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra. They also have a Daughter named Asma.

In the 1990S, She trained the dancer of her college for the TV shows Boogie Woogie and also she trained Aishwariya Rai for the Bollywood movie Taal. She assisted  Farhan Khan Bio coming soon... >> Read More... for the song Manwa Laage of the famous Bollywood movie Happy New Year.

She did choreography in Marathi movies like in  Popat, Natrang, Mitwaa, Jhapatlela, Aika Dajiba, Sanngato Aika, Classmate, Priyatama, Ideachi Kalpana, Julie, Sa Sasucha, Jhing Chik Jhing, Photocopy, Poster Girl, The songs of Natrang became very famous because of their dance steps are shown in the Movie.

Phulwa was the winner of the Sony TV’s  Dance shows Boogie Woogie Season 1. She also guided Amruta Kulkami and Sonalee Kulkami on predicting their Art apart from the Bollywood and Marathi movies. She has choreographed some south Indians and Punjabi Films.

She is running her own Dance Academy in Mumbai, called Phulwa School of dance and Gymnastics. She won Zee Gaurav Award 2010 for the best choreography for Natrang, MAAI Award 2016 for the movie Mitwaa, Chhatrapati Puraskar for the Gymnastics by the government of Maharashtra and an award for the best Choreographer Award for the film Jhing Chik Jhing.
