Osama Jalali is a chef and food enthusiast specializing in traditional Indian cooking, and expertise in Awadhi and Mughlai cooking. He was born and raised in Purani Dilli's back alleys though his parents are from Rampur, a princely estate in Uttar Pradesh known for its distinctive Rampura cuisine. He has immense popularity among people through his television appearances and as a seasoned food writer, researcher, historian, and chef who has reviewed about 2000 restaurants. He is the grandson of Nawab of Rampur’s chef. While his father, Imtiaz Qureshi, is also a famous chef, Osama has followed in their footsteps to make a name for himself as an expert chef. He has even appeared in many cooking shows on Indian television like Ranveer's Cafe, Ramzan Mein Bawarchi, and Nawabs N' Nishas of India.
Osama Jalali is known for bringing back traditional regional delicacies. He has assisted in bringing back long-forgotten Mughal cuisine thanks to his in-depth understanding of regional cuisines. Gosht/Mutton Ka Halwa, which only he can make, is one of the most well-known delicacies he replicated from the bygone Mughal era.
