Her father, Prithvi Raj Kapoor, was a legendary Indian actor and a former member of the Rajya Sabha. He is considered the founding figure of Indian Cinema. On 3 November 1906, he was born in Samundri, Punjab, British India. He dedicated his entire life to the Indian Cinema. The Indian Government honored him with Padma Bhushan in 1969 and Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1971. On 29th May 1972, he took his last breath in Mumbai, India.
