Gitanjali Murari is an Indian native of Mumbai, Maharashtra. She earned her MA in film & TV production from MCRC, Jamia, Delhi, after completing her BA (Hons) in economics at Delhi University. She is a director, author, and media specialist. Penguin India released her book The Crown Of Seven Stars. She also has writing tasks for scripts, internet content, and other things, as well as producing and directing corporate films. For Real Broadcasting, Sony PIX, SET India, and Fremantle India, she held the position of Content Head. She served as VISL's Production Head and is a Documentary Filmmaker. Gitanjali has more than 20 years of experience in TV production and broadcasting, with 12 years working in senior creative and programming roles with companies including Fremantle Media, Zee TV Network, and Sony Television.
She graduated from MCRC Jamia, one of India's top film schools. Her fundamental competency in content development with a focus on storytelling grew through this experience, which was rich in diversity and depth. Five years ago, she left her corporate job to pursue her ambition of becoming a writer and filmmaker. She wanted to portray stories about social issues affecting India and the struggles of ordinary people to deal with them daily. Gitanjali recently received the Delhi Management Association's 2018 Women's Entrepreneur Award in Media & Entertainment.
