Toushita Sengupta works in the camera and electrical department as a second unit director or Assistant Director. She is an expert in film direction, film editing, photography and screen writing. She lives in Mumbai, but her native is from West Bengal. Toushita completed her Higher Secondary schooling at Army Public School, Barrackpore. She got a Bachelor of Commerce from K.C. College, Mumbai University. And she then got her Masters in Communication and Journalism also from K.C. College, Mumbai University. Toushita has an excellent good career background.
She has worked as Director’s Assistant for the companies such as Show and Tell, Boot Polish Films, Zulu Films, Milestone Films, Full Moon Productions, Turtle Medios, Lucifer Circus, Monastery Films, Earthsky Pictures, Flying Elephant Films, Nirvana Films, Future East Films, Radhika Produces Films,Gingerman Entertainment, Ubik Films, Abstract Films, Chrome Pictures, Dharma Productions and Picture Perefct. She has also worked as Associate Director for companies such as Kairo5 Marcom, Dynamite Design LLP, Pixel Jar Films, Third Floor Films, LN Productions,Tobacco Films and Communications, Undercover Squirrel, Film Elements and Netflix. She also got the role of Associate Producer in Ignition Films. She is working as a Director in Anat as a Freelancer. Since she was a young child, Toushita has been interested in taking real world images and creating fictional stories out of them. In 2014, she made the decision to start a career in visual storytelling.
She was offered an internship as an assistant director with Chrome Pictures, a prestigious Mumbai-based advertising production company, while she was completing her final year of a master’s program in communication and journalism. She remained employed there for nine months. She left Chrome in 2016 to pursue other opportunities, and she began collaborating with some of the best directors on feature-length films and commercials. She started developing concepts in addition to her regular assisting jobs in mid-2019, when she decided she wanted to start directing on her own. She eventually started conceptualizing and directing “Saraab- A Mirage”, a visual poetry produced by Anat. It was released in April 2020. Her love of detail and inspiration from the other have always been the driving forces behind her work.
