Preeti Golacha is a writer, actor, and visual artist from Hyderabad, Telangana. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in 2014 from Saint Mary’s College, Hyderabad. Preeti started her acting career in 2014 with the short film anthology Shuruwat Ka Interval. In 2015, Preeti worked as an assistant director and set designer for the short film Pushpa. She acted in Leeches (2016), a short film about the exploitation of young Muslim girls in Hyderabad. Apart from acting, Preeti also worked in several other roles and took up many initiatives to promote the arts.
In 2016, Preeti joined Greenwood High International School’s theatre department as a teacher and creative director. Preeti also worked as a Festival Manager for the annual Hyderabad Children’s Theatre Festival for over six years. Preeti also worked in Vaishali Bisht’s theatre workshop as a facilitator, manager, creative assistant, and actor for over four years. In 2019, Preeti interned as a Puppeteer with Union Internationale de la Marionette. She also started her initiative, The Kachra Collective, in 2019, which aims to reduce garbage production.
