Chhel Vayeda, or simply Cheff, was born in Gujarat. He was a renowned art director and production designer in movies, TV shows, and stage plays. He was born as a seventh child to his parents Anandji and Jayakunvar. Later, their family shifted to Bhuj, where he did his matriculation and then had then took admission in School of Arts, Bhuj and after completion of his course, he was selected as a draftsman in Gujarat State road transport corporation. Later, he resigned from the job in transport corporation and came across Dr. D. G. Vyas who an art director of Sir J. J. School of Arts.
He then moved to Mumbai permanently for education in Sir J. J. School of Arts in 1960.
