Geetanjali Kirloskar

Geetanjali Kirloskar, born on 14 October 1965 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, is a businesswoman and an actress. She is renowned for being the Chairperson and Managing Director of Kirloskar Systems Limited. The Kirloskar Group is a pioneering engineering Industry in India. She married Virat Kirloskar, the Vice Chairperson of Toyota Kirloskar Motor. He died due to a heart attack on 29 November 2022. She has a daughter, Manasi Kirloskar. Her father is a part of the royal family of Sangli in Maharashtra and her mother is a Kashmiri. She comes from a bureaucratic-diplomatic background. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Pune. Her schooling was in Lawrence School, Sanawar. As an actress, her debut film was Cheluvi in Kannada. She also played a minor role as the victim’s wife in the Hindi film Samay in 2003. She hosted over 38 episodes of a talk show called Life’s Like That on Times Now. After marrying into the Kirloskar family, Geetanjali took up the role of a vibrant businesswoman.

She worked as an advertising professional for a long time, after which she became the chief executive of Lintas, formerly known as Quadrant Communications. She emphasized on building the brand into the storyline and called this concept Lintertainment. After working for a long time there, she became the chairperson of the Indo-japan Initiative. Based on the requests of many companies to teach them how to work with the Japanese, she began IJI. Companies like Infosys, Bharat Forge, Canon, Mitsui and Citizen contributed for the initiative. In 2021, she took on the role of heading the CSR committee under the Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Department. The Grand Master of the Order awarded her First Class of the Order of the Lion of Finland in 2022. The Government of Karnataka acknowledged her efforts during the pandemic to provide a unique modular 100-bed center for COVID-19 patients.
