Actress Rehana (or Mushtar Jahan) was a famous name in Hindi and Urdu cinema. Born on 10 March 1931 in Lucknow, during the British period. Rehana was known as The Queen of Charm because of her mesmerizing beauty and glorious acting skills. She was trained in Kathak since the age of 5 and started her stage dancing at a very young age. After doing a few minor roles and dancing roles in some Hindi films, the actress got a significant role in the movie Ek Hei Hum (in 1947) as a lead actress, and this was also Devanand's first film. After that, her career in acting skyrocketed, and she got significant roles paired with many prominent actors. Her biggest hits were the movies- Sargam and Sagai in 1950 and 1951. But her career and her films at the box office sank after 1952. So in the hope of uplifting her career again, Rehana migrated to Pakistan and started working in Urdu films.
She married producer Iqbal Shehzad, later divorced him, and then married Sabir Ahmed, a businessman from Karachi, and had three children with him. She was among the judges of the Niger Awards in 1995. Rehana was also involved in some controversies in the film industry. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting banned her movie -Shin Sinaki Boobla Boo (1952) due to a low moral tone. Later in 2010, her family filed a case against Ekta Kapoor for using the name 'Rehana' in the movie Once upon a time in Mumbai without Rehana's permission, defaming her image. She passed away on 23 April 2013 in Pakistan.
