Vishwa Mehra

Vishwa Mehra was a veteran supporting actor and producer who predominantly worked in the Golden Age of Indian Cinema. Fondly known as Mamaji, he was the uncle of the Kapoor Trinity- Raj Kapoor Rajkapoor is a film maker and movie director from >> Read More... , Shashi Kapoor Shashi Kapoor, a name that needs no introduction, >> Read More... , and Shammi Kapoor. He was born in 1926 in the Peshawar city of undivided India.  Initially, he had no interest in acting and lived in Peshawar for quite some time.  But when he came to Bombay to attend his nephew, Raj Kapoor’s wedding, he started his career on the silver screen.   He started his Bollywood career by producing Raj Kapoor films like Awara, Aag and Shree 420, under the banner of RK; Studios.  

He was also the brother-in-law of the legendary Prithviraj Kapoor One of the most notable names in the Indian film i >> Read More... and had acted in various dramas with him. 
Apart from being a producer, he was also a supporting actor in films not only he has produced, but also in other production houses’ films as well.  He acted alongside Raj Kapoor in  films like Aag, Barsaat, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai, Anari, and Satyam Shivam Sundaram. 

He was a close relative of the Kapoor family and the best friend of the veteran actor Raj Kapoor. They had acted together and produced numerous hit films over the years. 

 After playing a supporting role in the 1985 film Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Vishwa Mehra quit the showbiz industry and was never seen in cinema again. 

Several decades later, he was spotted at the funeral of Raj Kapoor’s son, Rajiv Kapoor Rajiv Kapoor is a well-known personality in the In >> Read More... .  A year later, Vishwa Mehra sadly passed away on October 5, 2022, when he was 96 years old.
