Being a screenwriter and television actor, Haidar Ali was born on February 16, 1948. Hailing from Mumbai, he is still remembered for his role in the serial Nukkad of the 80s which was aired in Doordarshan. He enacted the role of Raja in this serial. The story of the 2008 flick
Jodhaa Akbar
was penned by Haidar Ali. He came in a special appearance in the number Khwaja Mere Khwaja.Â
Haidar Ali is the offspring of Pramila who worked in various stunt films. She is also the first popular film producer and has 16 flicks produced by Silver Productions, her banner.Â
Haidar Ali is indeed a talented actor but had worked only in few films. The 1989 serial Circus, was equally as popular as Nukkad. This serial was directed by
Aziz Mirza
. In fact, Haidar Ali became a familiar face among the Doordarshan audiences. In Circus he enacted the role of a
Ring Master
and it was well appreciated. In the serial Nukkad, Haidar acted as an unemployed drifter who however shows a smart attitude. Nukkad was telecast in 1993 with a new name
Naya Nukkad
. But this could not reach the same success as Nukkad.Â
Haidar’s popularity dwindled post the successes of Circus and Nukkad. He had worked in some serials and Hindi flicks later but none of them worked. He didn’t have prominent roles after Circus and Nukkad. It may be attributed to his old age. However, Haidar shared screen space with Shahrukh Khan and
Hrithik Roshan
. These flicks were directed by Aziz Mirza. He also acted in films of director
Sudhir Mishra
. Jodhaa Akbar and Baazi were the films in which Haidar acted under Gowarikar’s direction. His contribution to Jodhaa Akbar is still remembered. Haidar Ali is surely one of the film personalities who could have worked more, owing to his talent.
