Hemant Kher

Hemant Kher is an actor, writer, director, and acting coach, chiefly known for his performance in the web series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. Some of his major works include the series India’s Best Cine Stars Ki Khoj, India’s Best Dramebaaz, Entertainment Ki Raat, and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs, among others.

Kher was born on December 17, 1977, in Kosamba, Gujarat. His father Ganpatsinh, Hamirsinh Kher, and his mother were school teachers, while he has a sister Sanvi Piludaria. He studied at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and later pursued a bachelor’s in science at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat. After that, he pursued a postgraduate diploma in dramatics at the National School of Drama, New Delhi. While pursuing the course, he earned specialization in Acting, Drama, and Dramatics.

After completing the diploma, Kher came to Mumbai with the dream of becoming an actor. After a lot of struggles, he was able to land only minor roles in several movies and television shows.
