Jyoti Dogra is a famous theatre artist in India. Jyoti was born in Mumbai. She has brought a unique concept of devised pieces that don’t involve narration. Instead, it is based on metaphors created with body, voice, or text. Jyoti’s friend told her about the auditions happening in Bombay, so she went and auditioned. Later, she realized that all the major roles were already occupied, which made Jyoti lose interest in that audition. But people who were taking auditions called her back to offer her a more significant role because they noticed the spark in her, and that’s how she began her career in acting.
Jyoti is a self-made actor who received two grants from IFA for the performances in The Doorway and Notes on Chai. She is also a writer and is best known for One Night with the King and Satya. Jyoti has a very different perspective towards life and other things, which makes her stand apart from the crowd.
