Sathinath Sarangi is an activist who has won multiple awards for his support and work for victims suffering injustice in society. Sathyu was born in Jharkhand, India. He was born on 25th September 1954. He has been living in Bhopal since the day he was born. He is a well-known campaigner, having run several campaigns and activities with the support of local, national, and international groups. With the support of his team, he helps the needy provide justice, shelter, and food. Sarangi helps the victims with financial requirements, health requirements, medical aid, and fighting legal claims. He contributed considerably to the Bhopal disaster, which occurred in 1984 and killed more than ten thousand people. For more than 26 years, he publicly acknowledged the Bhopal disaster.
He is known as the Survivor’s Saint. In the 80s, Sathyu wore a turban because, in the 80s, people started targeting Sikhs for wearing it. Therefore, he thought of going against the wrong ideologies in society. He spent years helping people suffering due to the Bhopal tragedy. He grew in his love for children and decided to write a book. His book for children Anarko ke Aath Din (Eight Days of Anarko). Sathyu has a potential interest in working for people and has been working for people over the years. He is the founder and manager of Sambhavna Trust. He not only contributed to the victims in Bhopal but has national and international recognition as well. Sarangi struggled for the indigenous people in Bihar. From 2006-08, he gathered a society of social workers and students involved in arranging low-caste agricultural workers. Other activities where Sarangi got involved were the marches to Delhi and hunger strikes. Sathinath Sarangi is with his words.
He has received multiple awards and has dedicatedly worked as an activist for the development of the people. During his university days, he received a gold medal for ranking first in the M Tech Exam; the Distinguished Alumnus Award, Department of Metallurgical Engineering; Honorary Graduate in 2009; Ground Zero Patriot in 2009; Man of the Year, the Week Magazine in 2010; Award of excellence in 2010-11 by the Association of IT-BHU Alumni in New Delhi; the Japanese Tajiri Muneaki Prize in 1999; the national Inner Flame Award for Humanitarian Work; and The International Click to look into! >> Read More... . Sathyu stayed busy for 26 years until the case of the Bhopal Tragedy and continued to fight until appropriate and adequate justice was provided. Now he is battling against the polluted waste in the Union Carbide plant, which is polluting the groundwater.
