Bhaskarbuwa Bakhale was born on 17 October 1869 in Kathor, Gujarat. He was a Hindustani classical vocalist, a composer, and a teacher. Earlier in life, he received training from Vishnubuwa Pingale in Vadodara. The royal family which resided in Vadodara arranged for musical lessons in the school, which was mentored by Maula Baksha. During this time, he became a part of a musical theatrical troup at Kirloskar Natak Mandali. Then, Faiz Mohammed Khan from Gwalior taught him while he was staying in Vadodara and further recommended further training.

Bakhale also composed music for Marathi musical theatre play such as Vidyaharan (1913) and Sangeet Draupadi(1920). These compositions is still used in stage plays.
